1999 Cast

When the Moon passes through a rift in space it accelerates rapidly in just a few seconds, causing the occupants of Moonbase Alpha to be duplicated. Regina Kesslann collapses from the experience and exhibits symptoms of sunburn; she then suffers an emotional breakdown after discovering that her ‘husband’ Alan Carter and Commander Koenig are both still alive. The Moon arrives back in Earth’s orbit, but it seems that an identical Moon is already there. After Regina suddenly dies, an autopsy is carried out which shows that she now has two brains. Koenig and Carter decide investigate the duplicate Moon; they take an Eagle across to the lunar surface and discover another Alpha, seemingly long deserted - and a crashed Eagle containing their own dead bodies. Koenig realises that the rift caused them to travel through time, enabling them to catch up with their future selves. The surface of Earth may hold the answer to the final fate of the Alphans…
