1999 Cast

While piloting an Eagle, Alan Carter is caught up in the explosion of an asteroid, but he is saved from death by a strange old woman named Arra, queen of Atheria. After Commander Koenig and Paul Morrow rescue Carter they discover that Moonbase Alpha is on a collision course with a huge planet many times larger than the Moon. Professor Bergman suggests a plan to avoid the impending impact by detonating a chain of nuclear mines in space in order to generate a shockwave that will alter the Moon's course. An alien ship appears between Alpha and the planet, and Commander Koenig sets off to investigate. He meets Queen Arra, who explains to him that their destinies are predetermined; the people of Atheria have awaited the Moon's arrival for millennia - and for the sake of their future, the collision must be allowed to occur…
