When the Moon approaches a sun with two planets in orbits diametrically opposed to the other, a massive battleship from the planet Betha lands on the lunar surface and then launches a missile attack on the other planet, Delta. Commander Koenig and the Alphans realise that the two planets are at war, but their opposing positions prevent them from directly firing at each other; however, the newly-arrived Moon has now given the Bethans an opportunity to set up a strategically-placed gun platform. The spaceship destroyed by missiles launched from Delta, but a vehicle manages to escape in time, and it heads for the safety of Moonbase Alpha. Arriving at the base, the Bethan commander, Dione, asks Koenig for asylum. After a giant battlecruiser from Delta lands on the Moon and prepares to launch an attack at Betha, Koenig tries to negotiate a cease-fire between the two worlds.
