The hurtling Moon inexplicably stops dead in space and Moonbase Alpha experiences a power drain. Realising that the base will become uninhabitable in just a few days, Commander Koenig orders the implementation of Operation Exodus - an evacuation to the nearby world of Arkadia. Exploring the surface of the lifeless world the Alphans discover a cave which contains human skeletons and a message written in the ancient language Sanskrit, which dates back twenty-five-thousand years. When further investigation shows that the trees are also native to Earth the team realise that life on Earth originally began on Arkadia. Believing that the lifeless planet is unsuitable for the Alphans’ new home, Koenig abandons the evacuation procedures, but two Alphans, Luke Ferro and Anna Davis refuse to listen; they take Doctor Russell hostage and demand supplies and an Eagle to take them back to Arkadia. Arriving on the planet, they find that the dead world is now somehow coming back to life…
