Angel Cast

Angel relives an old, painful memory, in which his father tells him he is a no-good layabout and a scoundrel, and that he is ashamed to call him his son. Angel is pulled back to the present, where with Kate’s help, he kills a demon in a subway tunnel. Angel asks Kate to cover-up what really happened, but she is still angry with him for deceiving her about his true identity. Kate is then distracted when she sees her father at the subway station. Later, Wesley identifies the demon as a Kwaini, a normally docile species; noting that the creature’s violent rampage through a subway train was completely out of character, Angel suggests that the demon was after someone on the train; he tries to get a copy of the passenger list from Kate, but she is unwilling to share information with him. Angel manages to track down one of the passengers, a deliveryman, and spends some time following him; the vampire is surprised when the deliveryman visits Trevor, Kate’s dad, who gives him a mysterious package. Angel confronts Trevor, but the old man denies any knowledge of what he is talking about. Later, Angel has another memory of his past, in which his father tells him to leave home; this confrontation sets off a chain of significant events: Angel meets Darla in an alley, and she sires him. The following day, Kate meets her father for lunch, but Trevor only wants to elicit information about Angel from her. Meanwhile, back at Angel Investigations, Wesley has run tests on the Kwaini demon’s blood and has discovered that the demon was addicted to a drug very similar to PCP; Wesley deduces that the demon was after the deliveryman on the subway train, who was transporting the drug. Cordelia returns, exhausted from having followed the deliveryman to an auto shop. Meanwhile, Trevor arrives at the auto shop, and informs its inhabitants that Angel is investigating the drug ring. Angel experiences another flashback, recalling when he was reborn as a vampire, crawling out of his grave to then be greeted by Darla. Angel and Wesley are attacked by two Kwaini demons, but they manage to overpower them; Angel calls Kate to warn her that her father is in danger. In another flashback, the newly re-born Angelus returns home and slaughters his entire family. Back in the present, two of the drug traffickers pay a visit to Trevor, anxious to learn if he has told his daughter anything; Angel arrives, but Trevor will not invite him in, and Angel can only watch helplessly as the two men reveal themselves to be vampires, and then kill Trevor. Once Trevor dies, Angel is able to enter the apartment; he kills one of the vampires, but the other creature escapes - just as Kate arrives and finds Angel standing over the body of her father. She makes Angel leave, and then searches her father’s apartment; finding the address of the auto shop, Kate heads for the premises, only to be surrounded by drug dealers and their demon boss. Angel emerges from the shadows, and together with Kate, kills the drug dealers and the demon. Having killed her father’s murderers, Kate still refuses to talk to Angel. Some time later, Angel’s final memory is of himself and Darla standing over the dead bodies of his family - Angelus feels that he has finally won his battle with his father, but Darla reminds him that his father’s disapproval, and the memories, will be with him forever.
