A missile attack is detected by all but one of the country's early warning stations, but then turns out to be a false alarm. When property near to the station that was the exception is put up for sale, Steed and six other prospective land owners are invited to a New Year's Eve costume party held aboard a train. But during the party, the train is left stranded at an abandoned station in the middle of nowhere. And when the guests start to die one by one, it is up to Steed and Mrs. Gale to find the murderer…
