Blake's 7 Cast

When the Liberator crew hear a rumour that Blake is on the planet Obsidian, Dayna and Tarrant investigate, and also evaluate the planet’s strategic value. Dayna’s father, Hal Mellanby, once knew Hower, the leader of Obsidian, and so she attempts to negotiate with Hower, so that they can use the planet as a base. However, Hower refuses as his people are pacifists. Tarrant makes a deal with Bershar, Hower’s son, but he instead betrays them to Servalan, believing that only the Federation can provide their world with the protection it needs. Servalan was the person responsible for the false rumour concerning Blake, part of her plan to capture Liberator; she tricks Vila into teleporting her commander, Mori, aboard the vessel, but then Zen attacks the Federation ship. Mori wounds Vila, takes Orac and leaves with Cally as his prisoner. Meanwhile, on Obsidian, Hower kills Bershar for the crime of betraying their people’s ideals; he then releases Dayna and Tarrant, who rescue Cally and Orac from Mori. Servalan tries to take the planet by force, but Hower unleashes the power of its huge volcano, choosing to destroy his world rather than let it fall into the hands of a dictatorship.
