Holy Surprise Parties! Commissioner Gordon contacts Batman and Robin and requests their urgent assistance; the Dynamic Duo speed off to the Gotham Plaza Hotel, only to find themselves the guests of honour at a party held to celebrate the anniversary of their partnership with the Gotham City Police Department. But just as the Caped Crusader and Boy Wonder are to be presented with a golden calf filled with $200,000 intended for charity, billows of green smoke envelop the room and then three emergency firemen arrive; however, they are really the Riddler and his henchmen, Across and Down, in disguise, and they promptly steal the calf and escape through a window. Batman and Robin give chase, but soon lose the getaway truck when the Riddler causes a diversion. Using a clue left by the count of conundrums, the Caped Crusader and his trusty chum analyse a crossword puzzle in the ‘Gotham Herald’ newspaper and determine his next crime; they alert Gordon, only to learn that the Riddler has flooded the underground vault of the Gotham City Bank. Realising that they have misread the clues, the Dynamic Duo track the Prince of Puzzlers to the bank and attempt to stop him before he can steal the money; however, the villain and his cronies are able to overpower the two heroes and make off with the loot. They reconvene at their hideout at the Norman Jigsaw Puzzle Factory, and with the aid of the Riddler’s moll, Anna Gram, they dry out the stolen money; it seems that the Riddler is planning to collect $3 million so that he can buy a devilish new weapon from Professor Avery Evans Charm - a deadly Demolecularizer…
