Buffy

Buffy convinces Kendra to meet Giles; after conferring with the Watcher, it becomes apparent that Kendra is telling the truth: when Buffy drowned in the Master's lair, she was ‘activated’ to become the next Slayer. Kendra‘s Watcher, Sam Zabuto, has sent her to Sunnydale because the signs portent something terrible will happen there soon. Meanwhile, Willy saves Angel from death by releasing him from the cage just as sunlight is about to pour in - but he then betrays the vampire by delivering him to Spike. At Buffy’s home, Cordelia and Xander are attacked by the salesman, who transforms into a writhing mass of worms and pursues them through the house; they are able to evade him and barricade themselves in the basement. Spike brings a weakened Angel to Drusilla, saying that all they need for her to be fully restored to health is that night's full moon and Angel's death. Elsewhere, Buffy wonders if it would be so bad to let Kendra take over the mantle of the Slayer, as it will mean that she can lead a normal life. Meanwhile, trapped in Buffy's basement, Cordelia and Xander begin their usual arguing - which then leads to much kissing; disgusted by their behaviour, they decide to make a desperate break for escape. Back at Sunnydale High, Oz charms Willow, and when the policewoman attending the ‘Career Day’ suddenly turns out to be the third of Spike’s deadly assassins, he selflessly takes a bullet to save her. Kendra then saves Buffy from the assassin, but the killer is able to get away. Giles reveals to the gang that the rest of Drusilla's cure will require the death of her sire: Angel. Meanwhile, Drusilla is torturing Angel before the ritual, exacting revenge for the way he killed her family. Buffy and Kendra threaten Willy to reveal where Angel is being held, and the bartender agrees to take them to the location that the ritual will occur. Kendra thinks they should go to Giles first, but Buffy doesn't want to wait; Willy takes her to the church, delivering her right into the hands of the waiting assassins. The ritual commences, and in five minutes, Angel will be dead. However, Kendra arrives with Giles and the others, and together they manage to kill the remaining assassins while Buffy goes after Spike, interrupting the ritual halfway. Spike sets fire to the church and tries to escape with Drusilla, but the organ collapses on top of the fleeing vampires. Kendra helps Buffy to get Angel out of the burning church. The next day, Oz and Willow’s attraction to each other continues to grow; Xander and Cordy argue - and then begin kissing once more; and Buffy bids goodbye to Kendra, who tells her that Slaying isn't a job. "It's who you are", she says. But in the burned-out ruins of the church, a rejuvenated Drusilla carries a weakened Spike away to recuperate…
