'Things' by Daniel Postgate

The Iron Chicken tells Tiny that three strange-looking things are drifting down to the Clangers’ planet. Tiny recognisies the objects, noting that they now look pale and tired. Using soup, glow honey and her pan-pipes, Tiny revitalises the three things; now seeming much happier, the objects change colour and then carry on with their journey into space. Then another, star-shaped thing arrives – but this one proves much more difficult to revive…
