Mal takes Serenity to a skyplex to make a deal with a villainous businessman named Niska; the job sounds easy enough: to pull a train robbery. Posing as passengers, Mal and Zoe board the train while it is en route for the town of Paradiso. While they gain access to the cargo carriage, Wash manoeuvres Serenity overhead, matching speed so that Jayne can be lowered down on a cable. Having hooked up with the crate, Jayne is winched back inside the ship, but is interrupted by the arrival of a squad of government soldiers. As they open fire, Jayne manages to get safely aboard Serenity; however, Mal and Zoe are left stranded on the train. Avoiding the authorities, they set off to rendezvous with their associates – only to learn that the cargo in fact contained medical supplies for a town in dire need…
