The Professor takes the crew to the Oktoberfest as a team-bonding exercise. Fry is disappointed that the expected booze-up is instead a sedate and boring event, and so he gets riotously drunk on the contents of a beer-tasting spittoon; everyone is disgusted by his behaviour – including Leela, who breaks up with him. Bender decides to win the sausage-making contests by using a woolly mammoth as a main ingredient; he and the drunken Fry head out onto the ice to search for such a creature, and they soon find one frozen under the ice. However, as Bender minces the hairy creature in a mulcher, Fry inadvertently gets dragged in too. Unaware of his friend’s fate, Bender returns to the Oktoberfest, where his mammoth sausages prove a hit – until Leela realises that she has just eaten part of her ex-boyfriend. Distraught at Fry’s death, Leela gets her memories of him blocked. Meanwhile, Fry is still very much alive: having fallen out of the mulcher and into a deep pit, he banged his head and was then frozen in the ice. Found by a tribe of Neanderthals living in a lost world under the ice, the amnesiac Fry is mistaken for a caveman – and together they declare war on the Homo Sapiens living on the surface…
