Back in 1999, Fry delivered a pizza to a TV station and inadvertently knocked the FOX Network off air during the season finale of ‘Single Female Lawyer’. In the year 3000, the transmission finally reaches Omicron Persei VIII, a planet one-thousand light years away, whose inhabitants are furious at missing the climax of their favourite series. Back on Earth, the ‘Planet Express’ crews’ enjoyment of the Labor Day holiday at Monument beach is interrupted by the arrival of the Omicronians’ war fleet. When Capatin Zapp Brannigan fails to defeat his fleet, the alien leader, Lrr, demands to know what happened to his on-screen heroine, Jenny McNeal. Having recognised the old programme, it falls to Fry to save the day – by writing the series finale to ‘Single Female Lawyer’ and getting his colleagues to act it out for the Omicronians’ viewing pleasure…
