The Goodies

Tim’s obsessive love of Margaret Thatcher takes a blow when it is announced that the Prime Minister has discovered a loophole in the tax laws that has enabled her to become ridiculously wealthy: she promptly retires to the Bahamas, with the rest of the government following suit. When the Queen calls Tim and orders him to become the new P.M., he dresses up as his idol, Maggie, and pays a visit to Graeme in the hope that his new advertising agency will be able to help win over the voting public. Graeme greedily accepts Tim’s request – and also that of Bill, who is standing against Tim as ‘Che’, the self-appointed leader of ‘The Worker’s Revolutionary Party’. Election Night soon comes along, but the television coverage is so exiting that everyone stays in to watch, and so the only people who actually vote are the candidates themselves: with just one vote each, ‘Che’ and ‘Timita’ are forced to form a coalition government. Graeme goes on to mix politics with popular T.V. quiz shows, but things soon go wrong, and ‘Timita’ and ‘Che’ bring Britain to the brink of international war…
