College football hero Donald Rhiner meets an attractive blonde on campus; together they head for a secluded spot, but the girl then changes into a hideous demon and kills the boy; the next day, the lifeless bodies of Rhiner and the girl are discovered lying next to each other. Having heard the report on his police scanner, Kolchak arrives at the scene, only to clash with his old foe, police Captain Joe Siskas. While the medical examiner pronounces the deaths as heart failure, the second such case to occur recently, Kolchak encounters Rosalind Winters, a writer for a weekly campus paper; she asks to Kolchak to work with her on the story, but the reporter flatly refuses. That night, a girl named Betty Walker returns home after a night of drinking with her boyfriend, Craig Donnelly; drunkenly falling down the stairs, Betty is killed instantly, but when Craig goes to call an ambulance, his girlfriend’s body mysteriously vanishes. Elsewhere, Professor Spat sends his assistant Mark Hanson home after a long day spent working on an ancient stone tablet; when Mark gets home he finds Betty waiting outside, and he invites her into his apartment. The following morning, both are found dead. Kolchak discovers that the dead boys all worked with Professor Spat; he goes to see the archaeologist and learns of the ancient Middle Eastern tablet. Kolchak surmises that when the tablet was removed from its resting place it unleashed a succubus, a supernatural creature that possesses young women at the moment of their death; when the creature reveals its true appearance to its male victims, it frightens them to death so that it can then feed upon their energies. Kolchak realises that unless the tablet is destroyed the succubus will kill every male on campus - including him…
