Into the Labyrinth Cast

At Camelot, the forces of King Arthur engage in violent battle with the traitorous Mordred and his men. Strolling amongst the fighting is the sorcerer is Merlin – Lazlo in disguise – who easily sees off an attack by a young boy, who has mistaken him for the enemy. The evil Belor suddenly materialises before Merlin, using a spell to transport the wizard from the battle to reappear elsewhere, half-entombed in a huge rock. Too late, Phil arrives, and learns of his friend’s abduction from the boy. Unable to touch Merlin’s bracelet, Belor causes it slip from the sorcerer’s arm and hover in mid-air; as the witch leaves to locate the Scarabeus, her lackey, Bram, stays behind to taunt Merlin, gloating that the green slime has now reached his face; before he leaves, the loathsome flunky uses one of Merlin’s own spells to cover the wizard in ever-lasting itching-power. With ten-thousand of his men dead, King Arthur finally comes face-to-face with Mordred; refusing to sully his sword, Excalibur, on the traitor, the king takes up a spear; the two men fight, but as Arthur finally slays his enemy, Mordred manages to deal him a mortal wound. When the dying king gives Excalibur to Bedivere, Belor appears and tries to seize it – its hilt contains the Scarabeus – but Arthur uses the sword’s magic power to banish the witch. Merlin uses his magic to make a lesser copy of himself, who leaves to fetch help; trapped in the rock, the original wizard tries calling out to Phil. Instructed by his king to throw Excalibur into the lake, Bedivere instead throws a lesser sword into the water; but when he tells the king that he saw nothing as the sword hit the lake, the king sees through his ruse; Arthur gives the order again, and this time, as Bedivere casts the weapon into the water, the Lady of the Lake’s hand rises up and catches Excalibur. Furious that she has lost Excalibur, Belor takes on the guise of Mordred’s sister, Morgan le Fey; she then learns that Arthur and the sword have magically returned to the king’s castle, Avalon. Bram captures Phil and brings him to Morgan le Fey; the witch hypnotises the boy into believing that he is Mordred, and then sends him on a mission to kill the king once and for all using a poisoned sword…
