'Body Banks' by Steve Roberts

Carter investigates the mysterious disappearance of several young women from the Fringes. He soon learns that the girls have been kidnapped by two unscrupulous ‘organ-leggers’, Breughel and Mahler, who have been selling their victims to Nightingales Body Bank. It seems that the wealthy Plantaganet wants the girls’ body parts and fluid from their pituitary glands for use in an operation that could save the life of his aging mother. Meanwhile, Cheviot becomes concerned that Max is offending Network XXIII's biggest sponsor, ZikZak, who have decided that they want to buy the computer construct for themselves…
