Arrogant adventurer Dixon Bainbridge returns from his travels to deliver a lecture on the Arctic Tundra to the staff of the Zoo-Niverse. In an attempt to compete with the egotistical explorer, Howard resolves to travel to the Artic himself, intending to succeed where Bainbridge failed by finding the legendary Egg of Mantumbi. Calling in a favour, Vince secures a lift in Gary Numan’s plane, and it isn’t long before the two zookeepers are setting up camp in the icy wasteland. While digging a fishing hole, Vince finds the frozen corpse of missing explorer Biggie Shackleton, his body and last words trapped in the ice by the blood-chilling ice demon Black Frost. Howard and Vince defrost Shackleton’s final message detailing the location of the Egg, but miss the last bit thanks to Vince’s mobile phone ‘Cars’ ringtone; Howard is furious, kicking Vince out of the tent and ordering him to take night watch; however, when Howard awakes the next morning, he discovers that Vince has vanished. Howard searches in vain for his friend, but after several fruitless days he becomes lost in the blinding whiteness of the Tundra… Meanwhile, Vince is having a laugh with a polar bear, dancing, playing and talking about Gary Numan; he eventually decides to look for Howard, and finds him a prisoner of a clan of parka-clad Eskimos who are about to sacrifice him to their god, the Egg of Mantumbi. Vince is also captured, and as he and Howard prepare for death, Dixon Bainbridge turns up and steals the Egg – but his act of theft sets off an alarm, which summons up the terrifying Black Frost…
