Planet of the Apes Cast

Walking along a beach, Virdon and Burke rescue an old man who has been tied to a raft and set adrift on the waves. They learn that the man was a member of a fishing village, and was to have been a sacrifice to the ‘gods of the sea’: sharks. Leaving Galen with the old man, Virdon and Burke set off in the hope of finding his family, but they are captured by a gorilla trooper and taken to the village prefect, Hurton; when the ape decrees that they are to be killed for stealing fish, the two humans are able to change his mind by convincing him that they are excellent fishermen. Prefect Hurton decides to test their suitability – if they can survive swimming under a sheet of flame, then they will be allowed to join the workforce…
