When a golfer is savagely torn to shreds by an unknown assailant, Nick, Stephen, Abby, Claudia and the Special Forces team rush to the scene to investigate. Having located a portal in mid-air above the golf course, the team are promptly attacked by a huge Pteranodon, only just avoiding the creature’s snapping beak before its forty-foot wingspan carries it back into the sky. Connor arrives at the golf club, only to find that Rex has come along for the ride too; he tries to recapture the lizard before Nick sees it, but only succeeds in drawing everyone’s attention – including that of the Pteranodon. Narrowly escaping the flying dinosaur’s jaws, Connor then comes under attack from Nick, who is furious that he and Abby have been secretly keeping Rex as a pet. Objecting to the soldiers’ efforts to shoot the Pteranodon, Nick convinces Claudia to allow him and Stephen to try to capture it; pursuing the creature to a nearby rooftop, Stephen succeeds in shooting the Pteranodon with a tranquiliser gun, but as the dinosaur crashes to the ground it also knocks Claudia unconscious. Checking the dung of the captured Pteranodon, Stephen finds no trace of human remains – meaning something else killed the golfer; meanwhile, Connor and Abby search for Rex in the woods, only just avoiding a flock of Agnurognathuses – small, vicious winged predators... Back at the golf club, Claudia awakes to find that she is now blind, but Nick reassures her that her condition is only temporary. When they suddenly hear the screams of the medic, Nick realises that the killer is now outside; shutting the windows and doors, Nick goes to find a phone so that he can call for help – but then the Agnurognathuses begin smashing their way inside, closing in on the terrified, sightless Claudia…
