Story Code 'AA'
by Ian Stuart Black
Here they meet Jano, the leader of the Elders, who knows of the Doctor's travels through time and space. Dodo discovers a strange laboratory, supervised by a scientist named Senta. When Dodo tells the Doctor of her findings, they realise that the Elders hide a terrible secret: the Elders are draining the life energy of the planet's Savages so that they can use it to prolong their own lives. The Doctor is outraged as such exploitation, but before he can put a stop to the atrocities, Jano taps some of the Doctor's own life force. In the process, the Elder leader acquires some of the Doctor's attitudes and morals, and he turns against his own people, helping the Savages to destroy the Elders' laboratory. Steven elects to stay behind as the Savages' leader, and the Doctor and Vicki depart.
