Ian and Randi

On the night of the full moon, Randi is overjoyed to discover that a lunar eclipse is preventing her from transforming into a werewolf; but as she and Ian settle down for a night in, Randi is unaware that her inner werewolf is fighting to take control of her mind and body… Elsewhere, in the L.A. hills, a man named Dirk finds himself possessed by the spirit of an alien slug warrior; as he struggles to maintain control, he is approached by a woman in white, who offers him sanctuary at ‘The Paradise Institute’… The next day, Ian interviews the same woman, Doctor Elena Horton, on his show, and hears how her “holistic growth community” encourages clients to embrace the joy of their inner forces. Meanwhile, Randi’s mood swings have gotten worse: after driving over Skip’s motorbike, she goes on a shopping spree, punches Ian in the face, and then storms off to get help at the Paradise Institute; here she joins a self-help group and reveals to Elena, Dirk and the others that she is a werewolf. Concerned for Randi, Ian tracks her to the institute and tries to take her home; but Randi refuses to go, and, as her lycanthropy gains dominance, she runs into the woods. Discovering an electronic surveillance device hidden behind a painting, Ian searches the institute and finds a hidden control room run by men in black suits: the place is a front for a C.I.A. human resources team, looking for people with special abilities who can be turned into trained killers – and as a werewolf, Randi is perfect for their plans…

Notes:
*Featuring Randi Wallace and Professor Ian Matheson

*Although Ian and Randi refer to a lunar eclipse, the moon is plainly visible in the sky, tinged with red – a ‘Blood Moon’ would be a better description

*Dirk’s space adventure is portrayed using clips from 'Buck Rogers in the 25th Century'!

*Ian suggests renting the movie ‘Biggles’ – an in-joke as lead actor Neil Dickson played the film’s titular hero
