The Doctor

The Doctor and Ace arrive in Perivale, so that Ace can look up her old friends, but the two travellers discover that most of them appear to have vanished mysteriously. The Doctor and Ace discover that the people have in fact been transported by Kitlings - strange cats that are roaming the area - to the planet of the Cheetah people. This world's inhabitants were transformed into Cheetah People by the planet itself, but their acts of savagery have in turn caused the planet to move ever closer to its total destruction. The Cheetah people have the ability to teleport through space to their homes. The Doctor and Ace are transported to the planet, where Ace teams up with Midge and two other old friends, while the Doctor meets the Master. The renegade Time Lord has drawn the Doctor to the planet because he needs his help to escape from the doomed world, whose symbiotic nature is now causing the Master to become one of the feral creatures. Midge allows his animal side to gain control, and the Master uses him to teleport to his home - Earth. Ace, who has almost succumbed to the attraction of Karra, a Cheetah Person, gains the same ability to teleport when she becomes partially transformed. She returns the Doctor and the others back to Perivale, and manages to overcome the transformation. The Master uses Midge and his friends to pursue the Doctor, but Midge is killed when he and the Doctor duel on motorbikes. The Master then kills Karra, who reverts back to her human form. But the renegade Time Lord is subsequently overtaken by his animal nature, and he transports the Doctor back to the disintegrating Cheetah planet to fight. The two Time Lords engage in battle, but the Doctor realises that if they fight like animals, they will die like animals; he refuses to fight, and teleports himself back to his home - the TARDIS, just as the planet is destroyed. Ace and the Doctor continue on their travels -

"There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream, people made of smoke, and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, and somewhere else the tea is getting cold. Come on Ace, we've got work to do."
