After failing to make off with the secrets of a new power station situated in Australia, The Hood steals ‘The Mighty Atom', a remote-controlled surveillance device disguised as a mouse. The villain uses the device to photograph the interior of an atomic irrigation plant in the Sahara and then sets the factory alight, an act that will result in the explosion of the plant's nuclear reactor and so draw <I>International Rescue</I> to the scene. Once the <I>Thunderbird</I> craft arrive, he then sends ‘The Mighty Atom’ on a mission to photograph the interior of their cockpits…
