Following the crash of the Fireflash 3 airliner, another aircraft is launched as a test, and set to follow the same flight plan. But this Fireflash begins to experience similar difficulties, and it too plummets into the Atlantic Ocean. As International Rescue sets out to rescue the trapped crew, Alan realises that the Fireflash has flown one-hundred-and-eighty miles off-course, suggesting that sabotage is the cause. After Gordon rescues the trapped crew using Thunderbird 4, Scott joins Captain Harris on a third Fireflash flight, with Thunderbird 2 following alongside them. The cause of the trouble is located when Gordon finds a saboteur hiding inside the wing, but the criminal jumps from the plane and parachutes to safety as the Fireflash hurtles into a crash-dive - can Gordon repair the damage, or will this airliner meet the same fate as the others?
