1988, Wind River, Deer Meadow, Washington: Special Agents Chester Desmond and Sam Stanley investigate the murder of a young woman named Theresa Banks, whose body was found floating in the river, wrapped in plastic. In FBI Headquarters, Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole, Agent Dale Cooper and Agent Albert Rosenfield receive a visit from Phillip Jefferies, an agent who has been missing for a year, and who has witnessed a strange meeting above a convenience store. After Agent Desmond mysteriously vanishes, Agent Cooper is sent to investigate, but the trail is a dead end…

1989, the northwest American town of Twin Peaks: High School girl Laura Palmer lives out her last seven days. Boyfriend troubles are the least of her problems, as she discovers the real identity of Bob, a frightening, long-haired man who haunts her nightmares and molests her when she sleeps.
