The police mount a manhunt for James Hurley. Shelly Johnson and Bobby Briggs turn to Sheriff Truman about Leo’s escape. FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield arrives with information on Windom Earle. Josie Packard is implicated in the murder of Jonathan and the attempt on Agent Cooper’s life. Nadine Hurley leaves her husband, Big Ed, so that she can be with Mike Nelson. Doctor Jacoby helps Audrey Horne, Jerry Horne and Bobby Briggs to cure Ben's madness. Donna Hayward helps James Hurley escape from Evelyn Marsh’s clutches. The town's resident chess-master, Pete Martell, gives Agent Cooper some advice for matching wits with Windom Earle. Shelly Johnson returns to work at the Double R diner. Catherine Martell uses Josie Packard to trap Thomas Eckhardt. Windom Earle makes Leo his servant, and leaves another disturbing message for Cooper…
