"They sure don't die very pretty, do they?"

After six weeks with no sight or sound of the aliens, General Wilson and Colonel Ironhorse believe the alien threat to be over; but Harrison is unconvinced, believing it to be the calm before the storm. Meanwhile, in their base in an abandoned underground nuclear test site in the Nevada Desert, the alien Triumvirate are growing increasingly concerned that the radiation protecting them from the deadly effects of the Earth’s bacteria is now slowly killing them. The three Advocates have become so weak that they are unable to separate from their human host bodies, and even bathing in blood drained from local cows has failed to prevent their imminent death. When the alien scientists propose the construction of makeshift protective suits for their commanders, alien warriors break into a plastics factory to obtain tubing and a fresh batch of new bodies, and then target a rocket-fuel technology facility, where they steal a quantity of liquid coolant. Learning of these thefts, Harrison, Norton and Suzanne surmise that the aliens are attempting to combat the effects of radiation poisoning; extrapolating where the aliens will strike next, Harrison and his team decide to a trap for their enemies…
