Michael and K.I.T.T. are assigned to guard a volatile new isotope called ‘Cernium’, which was inadvertently created in a Foundation laboratory. Unknown to them, international terrorist Phillip Nordstrom has hatched a plan to steal the isotope: after kidnapping Devon, he uses hi-tech laser surgery to transform a criminal into an exact duplicate of the director; Nordstrom then takes over the deadly Juggernaut vehicle and uses it to smash K.I.T.T. to pieces. Meanwhile, the late Wilton Knight's daughter, Jennifer, decides to shut down F.L.A.G. – and her first act is to suspend Michael from the Foundation. Separated from his friends, Michael is forced to turn to a street gang for help in re-building his motorised buddy so that he can stop Nordstrom from stealing the isotope…
